Social Stories
Social stories teach children with Aspergers the rationale behind the skill being taught. For example, a social story can teach a child how to behave in church or how to act around a new baby. Social stories will help relieve anxiety in the AS child because they address the confusion and misunderstandings that accompany social expectations...those "unwritten rules" essential to success in everyday life.
